Waverly Road Sidewalk Project
The City of Tallahassee is designing a sidewalk along Waverly Road that will enhance safety and mobility in the area. This project will incorporate a sidewalk along the full length of Waverly Road on the north side of the road, from Meridian Road on the west to Thomasville Road on the east.

The project will make use of three sidewalk layouts to accommodate different design considerations, such as topography, utility locations, and stormwater drainage. These sidewalk designs can be seen below. The sidewalk will be separated from the road wherever possible to provide users additional distance from vehicles.

Project Progress:
Two open house meetings have taken place at Freedom Church, one on March 26th, 2024, and one on March 27th, 2025. The public was invited to review the concept design and the 60% design, respectively. City staff from the Underground Utilities & Public Infrastructure Department were on hand to discuss, answer questions, and receive feedback regarding the proposed sidewalk. Comments were received and the project is continuing with design.
